The Facts on Conditional Notice of (Non-) Renewal

If you have not yet seen a Conditional Notice of Renewal (…or “Non-Renewal”, as the form may read), you may see one soon. Fear Not!
In many states the law requires the insurance company to give the policyholder ample warning of any adverse change in the premiums, limits, deductibles, or terms & conditions of the policy. Since aviation insurance policies do not renew automatically, many insurance companies elect to send out these notices regardless of whether they expect any change in the policy. They simply want to reserve their right to make changes should the renewal information be less than acceptable.
